There are more important things going on in the world than our celebrity-driven culture cares to pay attention to.  As we criticize the government and disrespect our leaders, crime continues to rise.  One thing remains constant: Soldiers fighting overseas continue to protect our Nation daily.

Celebrating a birthday this month is Artist William Quigley, well known for his Boxer and Civil War series. He spent the day touching up Donald Trump, one of his latest paintings.  The goal is to deliver it to Donald Trump, or auction it with a good deal of the earnings donated to the families of Wounded Soldiers, whose lives are forever changed. As we fight rhetorically about issues, they fight reality and Terrorism.  Quigley added that assisting in awareness and support for wounded soldiers returning home would be the best gift by far.

Versatile, yet distinctive. Works by Quigley include portraits of U.S. Presidents, Muhammad Ali, Audrey Hepburn, Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Jordan, Eminem, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Johnny Cash, and many others. Yet, other paintings such as his India series, Civil War, and abstract Phone Notes make picking favorites quite difficult.

While finishing his 6th painting of Abraham Lincoln, the artist remarked: “I see the portraits more as Iconic, we know the faces because we see them every day, but how to paint them is the challenge.  I call them all ICONS WE TAKE FOR GRANTED.”

Production of William Quigley’s first edition of prints is currently in the works as well.
